If things really are sunshine and roses in Iraq, why are we still fighting?

We keep hearing reports about how great Iraq is now - democracy, new schools, new housing, happy people who love Americans.

So why is there still a war going on there?

I always say this. If things are so rosy in Iraq why do our leaders have to make suprise visits. After all Ike announced that if he got elected he would personally go to Korea (while we were at war) and he did. If the war is going as great as Bush says it is, should he not put his money were his mouth is.

Simple, we don't have the Iraqi government to a place to get those oil contracts.
Youre insane if you actually think we've been hearing reports (plural) about how great Iraq is doing. The press is so far to the Left on Iraq that virtually NOTHING gets through thats positive.

You should be ashamed for even generating this insulting question.
Change is hard.......especially when religion is concerned. I must have missed the sunshine and roses report
For the answer to this question, check your garage.
Insurgents. It is strange thing in fact. I believe that the insurgents are fighting, and will continue to fight until Americans leave. Americans will not leave until they stop fighting. ???????
I don't think anyone said it was "sunshine and roses," in Iraq. I believe what was said is that it is a little better.
The people that bring you this news, are the same people that are profiting off of this war. America is owned and controlled by powerful billionaires that control our media, the White House, our money system, our education system and our military. America is no longer in the hands of the people. Our Republic is dead.
First, get your terminology correct. This is not a war. Wars are fought to win, no holds barred! This is a political Police Action that is fought by the politicians. We can't win in a Police Action. We can only try to contain until such a time we either quit from the wining liberals or we get a political solution.

The surge only shows that if you fight to win--it would be over!!USMC 60-68
