God needs our sorrow and tears to keep his evil, magical powers, right?

It appears that way.

Actually, suffering is an important part of spiritual growth.
Didn't the atheists tell you. Feelings evolved, and they originally just poofed out of nowhere.
what?
God gave us all the reasons for joy. It is we who have tore it apart.

Don't blame anyone but yourself for your mistakes.
It is man that tears it all away by denying God.
I'm sorry that you are hurting.
yes...
You have been a bad boy and now that you have to sit in the corner, you say your dad is wicked. Stop pulling your sister's hair!
"you thought wrong!"

-- Shrek
If that is your viewpoint, how could anyone say thee, nay?

But, in answer. No.
Yes, yes, Donkey...

(Phew! For a moment there I wasn't sure if I'd be able to think of a suitable Shrek-ism to quote at you).
In addition to everyone else's comments: why shouldn't he? Even if He threw you into hell for no reason and left you there to burn alive for your eternity of existence, who are you to tell Him not to? God is God, not you, He can do whatever with you. Fair? He created you. Even if you'd rather never have existed, God gave you life, and can do what He wants with it. I know that sounds sucky, but then realize He didn't do it. You aren't in hell, you're still here, living a life God gave you. Don't take it for granted, God loves everybody, even though He doesn't have to.
He gave those things to us so that we can start to understand what "good," "beauty," and "heaven" is... Without it, the world would be dark and sad... It is those gifts (happiness and sunshine) that gives us hope...
he doesnt tear away our happiness, we do it perfectly fine ourselves, by doing and saying horrible things to each other...

not unlike this question
You are entitled to look at it that way, yes.
